In July 2025, the U.S. government rescinded funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), the non-profit that provided grants to public radio and television stations. The CPB will wind down operations by the end of September 2025, with a skeleton crew remaining to close out its work. Here in the Las Vegas Public Radio division at Portsonic Communications (Nevada), we're just beginning our work as the former Las Vegas Public Radio/PBS Affiliate & KIOF has been successfully transferred into the Internet of Things (IoT) model. We will begin serving up the nostalgia with the death of the public radio broadcasting industry in real time to be heard on your pre-alpha Portsonic Radio devices through interaction on the radio service.
